Hooray to 2023!
This year we reached several goals, including redesigning our website, raising donations to further help out non-profit partners, and holding in-person mentorship and job skills workshops for students and professionals. Our sincere thanks to Lindy Duffney for all of work on the website and our social media! And, of course, we couldn’t have done it without you - THANK YOU!
Our year was full and a success. Here are some of the ways we pushed mentorship and helped your community:
January 2023 | We met with staff members of Communities in Schools of North Texas to celebrate the donated funds from our non-profit to theirs.
February 2023 | On behalf of The Wendi Atwood Rogers Foundation, we got to meet the Edge students of Journey Forward Mentoring we have supported by gifting items to help them start their college life. These students are first generation high school graduates or college attendees.
June 2023 | We supported Journey to Dream/Kyle’s Place, by delivering a successful 1-hour Skills Workshop for at-risk and homeless teens over four weeks. We focused on how to find, apply, and interview for a summer job. Debbie and Cynthia got to know the teens as they worked through what to do for the summer.
Summer 2023 | We donated over $3,000 to various charities including providing much-needed supplies to Tom Bean Middle School, Communities in Schools of North Texas, and Journey to Dream/Kyle’s Place.
September 2023 | We presented our Seventh Annual Free Mentorship Workshop at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas, and focused on learning about AI and how it will affect professionals now and in the future. A special thank you to our speaker Rick Anderson of Servient. https://www.servient.com/
October 2023 | We were invited to speak at and attended the National Convention for the National Federation of Paralegal Associations in Washington D.C. Cynthia presented a special event titled “You Do Not Live on an Island, So Connect!” It was a huge success with willing participants and a great audience.
We also celebrated and attended the Texas Paralegal Day event in Dallas, Texas and connected with so many wonderful people!
Also in October 2023, The Wendi Atwood Rogers Foundation was named the Focus Charity for the Dallas Area Paralegal Association for 2024.
December 2023 | We attended the Dallas Area Paralegal Association Holiday Event where we were announced as the 2024 Focus Charity for the esteemed professional association. Thank you to all of the supportive vendors and legal professionals in Dallas that raised $1,000 at this single event! We are honored to work with this group throughout 2024 in support of those that need mentorship, support and help.
