Another successful mentorship workshop is in the books! We hosted our 3rd Annual Mentorship Workshop together with the Dallas Area Paralegal Association (DAPA) on August 3rd in downtown Dallas. We appreciate everyone who came, participated, and made this the best workshop we have hosted yet. Special thanks to DAPA (Heather Ulliman, Abby Hardy, Aaron Bath and Jill Spytman), Avansic (for providing breakfast and coffee), Balfour Beatty (Aaron Bath), who graciously provided comfortable accommodations, and our wonderful speakers, Christine Leatherberry, Esq., volunteer, mother, attorney, and S. Kristine Farmer, Ph.D. and Co-Founder of the Wendi Atwood Rogers Memorial Fund.
It was an honor to host Alyssa Mathes representing The Path4Life. The Path, as it is known, was created to serve as a free after-school program for kids of Tom Bean ISD in north central Texas. Our school supply drive to help students of Grayson County turned out better then we anticipated, and we thank all donees!
Christine and Kristine taught us how to be a mentor through all stages of life, while learning about the various mentors we encounter and need throughout our lives. Attendees also participated in an ice-breaker and networking activities designed and orchestrtaed by Jill Spytman. People felt comfortable enough to share something about themselves while enjoying their favorite candy bar. How is that related? You will have to find out next year. By having attendees share their contact information through two additional Networking activities, our hope is good connections were made, and possibly life long friendships. I will be sharing more insights on the blog, so stay tuned.
If you attended, we would like to have your feedback. Please e-mail us or comment on this blog, and tell us something, anything, how we can improve, what we did well, what we can add for next time, and share a picture.
For now, we are sharing photographs from the event.
